Bio

I am Tramp. I am based in Henderson, Kentucky where I write and record in my home studio which is called Tramp Camp. Tramp Camp is also my publishing company and record label. I release boutique indie music as Tramp and write music for film/television.

My goal is to become a working musician again through sync placements and touring.

New Tracks and LIVE video below.

I got the nickname, “Tramp” in Tucker, GA, just outside Atlanta during the early 1980’s. I had dropped out of high school, runaway from home and the owner of a biker bar called The Alibi took me in. The club had a house band called The Renegades and he was also lead singer of the band. Our arrangement was that I could live there on the down low (I was 17) as long as I played fiddle each night as a member of the band. The Outlaws MC gave me the nickname.

I DO book out now as “Tramp” and put together a band in 2023 but I don’t play out much because I work as a Stage Manager/Monitor Man for The Eric Group, based out of Owensboro, KY. They keep me hooked up May–November doing production.

But if you want to book a “Tramp” set November through April 2024 give ME a call. We do a curated 45-90 minute set designed for openers and festivals. Mostly originals. I have a 3-piece (me, electric bass and percussion). It’s “Power – Folk”.

I am 100% indie! Just me and a lawyer.

I have had 3 major label record deals, appeared in 2 movies (Pure Country & Ernest Goes to Jail), played The Opry multiple times (The Kendalls, Cactus Brothers), performed on multiple TV talk shows, worked as support act for giant tours (Bob Seger, Barbara Mandrell), toured in 9 different countries, been divorced twice, grew a giant Bluegrass festival (ROMP), was a Museum Director, filed bankruptcy, did a little jail, worked 12 years underground in a coal mine, have 3 children, 2 plants and no pets. I don’t drink anymore and I don’t keep a girlfriend.

I am AFM 257.
